Jubilee Party Ideas How to Celebrate the Queens 60 Year Diamond Jubilee – Predicted Weather Forecast is Sunny!

It’s only 14 days until we will all be celebrating the Queens Diamond Jubilee with a 4 day holiday. Here our crumb’s top suggestions for how to do it in style. If you haven’t heard, here at crumb we are specialists in afternoon tea parties by post so if you think a tea party might be just the thing to celebrate the jubilee then you have definitely come to the right place!

Weather forecast:

After a miserably wet April and May not fairing much better, its hard to believe the summer will ever arrive. So is it wise to plan an outdoor event for the jubilee? Well, according to the met office, their long range weather forecast is predicting the rain will finally clear by the end of May, stating a “prolonged spell of relatively warm, dry weather, is more likely to occur during the early part of June. ” Winner! Finally the Summer is coming!!! The prospect of the first sunny bank holiday of the year should see us grabbing the BBQ and inviting friends round for a garden party.

UPDATE!

Due to the high traffic to this blog post we are keeping a close eye on the weather forecast to make sure we remain accurate – well, as accurate as the weather forecast! As you can tell, the hot settled weather has come early and as of Monday 28th May the prediction for the jubilee weekend is now:

“Mainly dry, bright, and cooler than of late for the Jubilee weekend across many areas, especially southern and eastern parts of the UK, including London, where it will be a little cloudier with a chance of some light showers. Temperatures will be around or just below average for the time of year, and winds should be light away from northern and eastern coasts with a fresher northerly breeze here. Conditions should stay similar for Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday, but perhaps more in the way of cloud and showery rain in the north and east, this spreading into the southwest at times, with temperatures staying around or just below the average. Staying generally unsettled thereafter with some rain or showers at times, and temperatures around or just below average.”

So perhaps a party at home with elements of garden based entertaining is the best bet.
