cakes

The cakes:

Yoghurt and cranberry tiffin:

Tiffins are traditional british tea time cakes that include достопримечательности Рима crushed biscuit for texture. A chocolate version was chosen as one of the wedding cakes by Prince William and Kate Middleton no less. Our version is a biscuit and fruit tiffin made with sultanas and cranberries finished with a sweet yoghurt coating. Perfect cakes for those with a sweet tooth and an excellent accompaniment to the stronger black teas.

Caramel Shortbread:

Sometimes referred to as millionaires shortbread or caramel shortcake this is a classic for any afternoon tea party and is do delicious it is fit for a millionaire. Believed to be of Scottish origin because of the use of shortbread, it traditionally consists of three layers; a shortbread biscuit base, a caramel filling and a milk chocolate topping. Ours is no exception, it has a light shortbread base, layered with indulgent caramel and rich chocolate.

Seeded Nut Granola with Belgian Chocolate:

One of our more unusual cakes, at first glance, this appears to be the healthy option, but don’t be fooled, the sweet caramel binds the pumpkin seeds and mini apricot pieces giving a lovely soft and chewy topping. Underneath is a rich flapjack base made with jumbo oats. A sprinkling of petite Belgian chocolate cubes finishes off these cakes perfectly.

Rocky Road:

Dreyers (who are credited with creating and naming the first rocky road bar and ice cream) used mashmallows, cashews and chocolate. supposedly, they chose the name “rocky road” after the Wall Street Crash of 1929, “to give folks something to smile about in the midst of the Great Depression.”

Our version omits the nuts and has a biscuit and marshmallow base made with rich chocolate, finished with a light sugar dusting. Given the current economic climate there is perhaps no better choice of cakes for comfort eating at the moment.
